July 19, 1991 – June 18, 2025
Shantell Dianne VanAusdal, 33, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at IMC Hospital in Murray, Utah, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born in Salt Lake City, Shantell grew up in Evanston, Wyoming, and Rose Park, Utah. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend, known for her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit. Shantell had a gift for making others feel seen and valued, and she brought joy and laughter wherever she went.
Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her beloved children, Adrienne and Benet. She also found fulfillment in her work as a talented hairstylist and in her passions for music, art, nature, and good food.
Shantell faced life’s challenges with courage, particularly her struggles with mental illness. Her story serves as a reminder of the importance of understanding and compassion.
She is survived by her children, Adrienne and Benet and her soulmate Justin Larsen; her mother, Lisa (Matt) Hill; her siblings Jessica, Aiden, Sydney, Jacqueline, Dillan, Brittany, and Bridgette; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Chet VanAusdal.
In her memory, donations to mental health organizations such as NAMI are encouraged.
A celebration of Shantell’s life will be held on June 29th, 2025 at 2pm at Storm Mountain Amphitheater in Big Cottonwood Canyon and following reception at Murray park Pavilion 5 at 6-9pm. In the canyon parking is limited, please carpool.
