Sharald Louise Tyree Nicholls' Obituary
Our beloved Mother, Sharald Louise Tyree Nicholls, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend passed away at home in Clinton, Utah on February 5, 2021, from conditions associated with age. She would have turned 86 on her birthday this year. Sharald, or Sherry as her parents liked to call her, was born February 15, 1935 in Ogden City, Utah to Theodore Nicholas Tyree and Hazel Isabel Lewis. Sharald was the eldest of three children, with her sister Patricia Anne Kling and her brother Roger Theodore Tyree. Sharald was very close to her siblings and they enjoyed many outdoor adventures together as a family camping, fishing, and hunting.
She graduated from Ogden High School in 1952 where she was a member of the swim team. Sharald had many passions in her life which included dancing, water skiing, roller skating, ice skating, talented seamstress and most importantly playing the piano. She also tried her hand at tennis, but that was her mama’s niche. She became exceptionally good at all of the interests she pursued.
Sharald loved being a mom and raising her family, it was her most prized achievement. She was blessed to raise 9 children of her own. She cherished her kids deeply. Because of her natural acceptance, and love for children, she had the wonderful opportunity to be “Mom” to many of her children’s friends. Following a tragic event, two of her boys, Kevin age 10 and Greg age 7, returned home to their Father in Heaven on October 5, 1965.
Sharald was strong, yet gentle, quiet, funny, and a friend to all. She could light up a room with her smile. She was a beloved grandma whose smile would melt the grandkids hearts and her loving arms were always open to a great big hug.
She is survived by her loving husband Gary James Nicholls, whom she married in Roy, Utah on August 22, 2008. Her children Debra (Robert) Lange, Jeff (Tibi) Maw, Phillip (Debbie) Maw, Bryce (Kathy) Maw, Mitchell Maw, Heidi Maw, and Camielle (Steve) Murdock.
