Sheldon and I had a lot of things in common besides being the same age. January and February were our birth months. We always spent time playing down at grandma and grandpa's ranch, sliding down that old cellar door, sneaking into the pantry for a fresh baked cookie, and going into the ice house. Our scolding was never very harsh as she shook her finger at us. When my sister and I got to go to the city for two weeks in the summer, I would walk down to uncle Ray's service station and visit Sheldon, talking of all our good and bad times in life and what we planned to do when we got out of school. We always wrote letters back and forth to each other, kind of like brother and sister. When he went on his mission he made me promise that I would send him a loaf of bread each week if baked. We had little secret promises always. I will always remember the hospitality and comfort I felt with them in their home. I loved them both. Sheldon has left us for a time only but if you look up in the sky at night you will feel his spirit counseling you and telling you he loves you. Always follow his wisdom and look for his star. Love to Gail and all his family from a special family basin cousin.
