Sheldon Mark Jensen's Obituary
Mark Jensen, adored husband, father, grandpa, brother and true friend to all left us on November 17, 2015. His earthly life ended peacefully, surrounded with his loving family gathered by his side, after a 2.5-year battle with cancer. Mark was born March 6, 1959 to Rennis Jensen. Due to her untimely death, he was adopted and raised by his loving grandparents Kenneth & Bernice Jensen. He graduated from South High School and Salt Lake Community College where he discovered his interest and natural talent for woodworking. He proudly continued woodworking in his family’s business, Jensen’s Architectural Woodwork, which he later bought and became partners with his nephew Ken Jensen. Mark was a very successful and trusted business owner who loved running his business with his brother Clyde, and nephew Ken. Mark was known as an expert in his industry, working in the business for over 39 years. He was very detail oriented and his work can be seen all over the Salt Lake valley. In 1980, Mark married the love of his life and best friend, Karen. They were high school sweethearts and enjoyed every minute of their 35-year marriage. They were blessed with 2 beautiful daughters and 3 grandchildren. Mark truly loved his family; he supported his children and grandchildren in their sports, dance, and many hobbies. His world revolved around his family. Mark was an Eagle Scout and loved everything to do with the outdoors, camping, four-wheeling, fishing, and swapping stories around the campfire. Mark took great pride in doing the best in everything he did. It wasn’t uncommon for him to spend his weekends detailing his trucks and working in the yard. He was a best friend to all who knew him, and was always willing to help anyone. We will truly miss Mark’s quick wit and his ability to keep us laughing.
Mark is survived by his wife Karen Jensen; Children: Renae Flores (Tom Flores); Amy Crockett (Blake Crockett); 3 grandchildren (Maddie, Braden, and Charlie); Brother Clyde Jensen (Kathy Jensen) in-laws and nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
