Shelly Cook Hamblin's Obituary
Celebration of Life for Shelly Cook Hamblin
January 3, 1951 – July 25, 2025
With heavy hearts and enduring love, we announce the passing of Shelly Cook Hamblin on July 25, 2025. A true cowgirl through and through, Shelly lived life with grit, grace, and a spirit as wild and beautiful as the desert skies she adored.
Shelly cherished life’s simple joys — her handmade dreamcatchers swaying in the breeze, the strum of a Merle Haggard tune, the roar of a fast car, motorcycle or four-wheeler, and the quiet thrill of casting a line into a mountain lake, soaking up every ray of sun. She was a lover of music, dancing, softball, horses and summer days spent with her grandkids, painting rocks or splashing in the pool. Whether camping, boating, riding, hunting, or fishing, Shelly was always at home in nature — especially in the desert and mountains.
Her bond with animals ran deep, especially with her beloved pets. Her love for family and friends was unstoppable, and the nurturing she gave lives on in every heart she touched. A hard worker, fiercely independent and strong beyond measure, Shelly lived loud, loved big, and left every trail better than she found it.
Please join us to honor her remarkable life:

As George Strait might sing it best — the cowboy rides away.
But in this case, our cowgirl rides away, sun on her face, guitar in her heart, and her boots forever in the dust of the open road.
Ride on, Shelly. You’ll never be forgotten.
