Sheri Janeen Johnson's Obituary
Sheri Janeen Johnson, beloved wife, mother, grammy, sister and friend, was born on May 29, 1967 in Del Rio, Texas to Robert Alan Rex and Patricia Jeanne O’Malley. After battling pancreatic cancer, she passed to the other side on August 8, 2025 at her home in American Fork, Utah at the age of 58.
Sheri graduated from Timpview High School, and went on to become a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in History Education and a minor in Mathematics. While attending BYU, she married her high school sweetheart, Eric Johnson, on December 19, 1987. Together, they raised 5 children, whom she loved to see grow and thrive in their lives. In recent years, she got to become her favorite title, Grammy, to 6 grandchildren who adored her, her playful spirit and her warm hugs.
Sheri is survived by her husband, Eric, her children, Brandon, Doug and Kai, Joe, Cassie and Katelyn, her grandchildren Emmett, Rydia, Zuko, Ahri, and two other grandchildren, her sister Maralee Wise and Thegn, her brother Garrett Martin and Jillian, and her nieces and nephews. She also left behind many of her extended family whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her parents.
Sheri was a brilliant, caring soul to all those who had the fortune of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, family, service and an unwavering faith in God and Jesus Christ which could be seen in every facet of her life. Her devotion to her family, her enthusiasm for life, love of helping others, for travel, for lego and puzzles were some of her crowning joys. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who connected with her. As such, we ask that you fill that void with the things she treasured most in life in remembrance of her; family, kindness and love of God.
Those who knew Sheri will remember her for her infectious smile and laughter, her deep-rooted love and devotion to family, her faith in Jesus and her unwavering desire to spread love, kindness and service to all she encountered. She had a rare gift of making others feel loved and seen, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path and leaves behind this legacy of love and service.
