Shirlene Nye Richardson's Obituary
Our dear loving Mother, Shirlene Nye Richardson, age 78, of Heber City, Utah
passed away Friday, February 2nd surrounded by her family. Mom was born to her parents
Erycel and Clara Nye on February 27th, 1945 and was raised in Heber City and Midway. She
then met the love of her life, Jackie LeRoy Richardson of Naturita, Colorado. They were married
on August 30th, 1961 and later sealed in the LDS Temple.
Mom was an amazing person. She loved everyone she met and made friends everywhere she
went. She loved camping, singing, holidays, Lifetime Christmas movies and any heartfelt
movies. She loved Alan Jackson Chistmas songs and she would sing Christmas all year long.
She loved decorating for every holiday, and made them very special and memorable for the
family each year. She loved crafts and making Christmas candy, she loved sitting around a
campfire and singing while roasting marshmallows, and Saturday morning yard sales.
Most of all she loved her family, gathering together for holidays, bbq’s, and birthday parties. She
was proud of all of us for anything we accomplished. She was there when we needed her. She
enjoyed all her grandkids and spoiled them as often as she could. She loved and adored Dad
through thick and thin; she took care of him and cherished him.
Mom was a strong woman as she had so many serious health issues. She kept fighting and
overcoming each issue. She was incredibly brave. To name a few of her ailments, she had
open heart surgery, COPD, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Atrial Fibrillation, receiving a pacemaker,
Congestive Heart Failure, Mitral Valve Regurgitation, Alzheimers, and many more.
Mom always said her prayers, and she never forgot anyone who needed help or was sick. She
loved her entire family very dearly. She was always excited for their visits or phone calls. Mom
had 12 grandkids and 25 great grandkids that she adored with all her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Erycel & Clara Nye, Jackie Leroy Richardson
(spouse), Thomas Nye (brother), Allen Nye (brother), and Norma Lux (sister).
Survivors include her children, Sandra Shelton (daughter), Norma & Mike Peart (daughter &
son-in-law), Jack & Jill Richardson (son & daughter-in-law), Milessa & Austin Healey (daughter
& son-in-law), Jessie Shirk (sister), Mary & Wesley Sweat (sister & brother-in-law), Susan &
