Shirleyann. I love you an I will miss you dearly.
She was my best friend and sister for over 50 years. I don't know what I will do without her to talk to everyday. We have had so many adventures and the last year we moved to the same small town. She would tell me how much she loved living here and I would tell her how boring it would be if she were not living here too. I will miss her more than anyone will know. A part of me is gone forever and nothing will ever be the same. I will miss her fun loving spirit and her mischievous smile. She was always ready to play a joke on someone and was a good sport when I played one on her. I will miss the long rides we took in the evenings, sometimes taking pictures of the scenery and the sunsets. I will miss watching old movies with her and laughing at how stupid they were. I will miss reminiscing about our childhood and school days. She always could remember the names of everyone and stories of them too. I always had to look them up in the year books and then still couldn't remember much. I didn't want her to go, but I did not want here to suffer here. She stayed long enough to say goodbye to everyone and I am grateful for that. Rest in peace dear friend, I know I will see you again.

Words can't express the gratitude I feel for having known Shirley. Her kindness, strength and integrity will have a lasting impact on all of us. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

i had the privilege of living with Shirley for almost a year. she took me in when i had no where to go and i appreciate her more than she'll ever know!. at the time she was also going through some things so we supported each other. talked about our options and helped one another make decisions. at least she helped me, i dont know if i helped her. i like to think i did. i will always treasure the time we spent together. i have so many memories... i called her "Little Shirley Sunshine" because she was always happy and could always bring me out of a bad mood in a matter of minutes!
Shirley could tell a great story. she loved to tease. and im kind of gullible so she had a lot of fun! she absolutely LOVED hiding behind the door and scaring me when i opened it, she did it to me almost daily and got me EVERY time! she also liked to go in the car, we'd drive and drive and drive, she showed me the old neighborhood she grew up in, the houses she lived in, explaining where the store was and what used to be here and there. she would have made an excellent tour guide.
we had our moments for sure but mostly we had each other. shes a great lady and she will be missed

" Aunt " Shirley. Growing up your house was our second home. The times we spent together at BBQ's, fireworks and family get togethers were all memories of my childhood. I know that as we got older life took us our separate ways but these memories will never be forgotten. May you Rest In Peace .

To all of those who are pierced with pain and loneliness by the passing of your dear Shirley Ann; we warmly extend our deepest sympathy. Being neighbors to Shirley Thackory for many years, we have had the finest opportunity of meeting some of her family. Shirley, you and your daughter's are the sweetest people we have ever met. May God be with you to give you the strength that will pull you through. Our thoughts and prayer always
My friend, Shirley Ann, was a very giving person as she demonstrated on numerous occasions. I was fortunate to have worked with Shirley Ann in a State (Utah) Deli lunchroom for some time and she taught me so much. She should have opened her own Catering Business, as she was an expert! She was alot of fun and always had great ideas about creative projects. In life, she was a survivalist, rolled with the punches and as a fast learner, she is graciously flying with the Angels. Fly my friend!
