What a beautiful obituary! I couldn't believe the memories that came pouring into my mind. Aunt Shirley's life has so many similarities to my mom's. I'm so thankful that they have been so close! Because of that relationship, I believe that we children have benefited greatly! I know we were sung those great "heritage" songs, The Fox, Go Tell Aunt Rhody, etc. Since her passing I've had to listen to the precious cassette recording of the aunties singing those songs. I thought we were the only kookie people that loved "beans and tuffies". Even as adults, until mom couldn't make them anymore, we gathered for those or enchiladas. I have many a recipe with "from Aunt Shirley" written at the bottom. That was one of the wonderful memories of our visits to the Goodman's for summer vacation. I have to be so grateful to our wonderful grandparents for the Jesperson family that I love so much! I will miss her love and concern for me, her cheerful personality that sometimes had us in stitches at something witty that she had shared. If I close my eyes I can hear her unique voice. I want so badly to see her, but I have to be comforted with the knowledge I have that our family is eternally bound together and I will see her again. I love you my dear cousins and pray for you at this difficult time!!
