Shirley Stride Lloyd's Obituary
Shirley Stride Lloyd passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on April 28, 2017. Shirley was born in Smethwick, England on September 25, 1935 to Alfred Stride & Olive Ethel Woolliscroft Stride.
Shirley married Malcolm “Mac” Braidley Lloyd on May 8, 1954 in Blackheath, England. After joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1964 they immigrated to the United States living in Chicago, IL, Salt Lake City, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Escondido, CA, San Jose, CA and Cedar Hills. Shirley was the proud mother of five children.
A faithful member of the LDS Church she served for many years in the Relief Society and Primary organizations. She loved traveling, reading and family get-togethers.
Shirley is survived by her husband Malcolm, daughter Karen Johnson (Hugh) of American Fork, son Andrew Lloyd (Frank) of Campbell, CA, Daughter Ellen Wilson (Gary) of American Fork and son Jonathan Lloyd of Cedar Hills. She was the grandmother “Nanny” to fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Lloyd of Denver, CO in 2000.
Services will be held at the Cedar Hills 10th Ward Chapel, 9737 Chesterfield Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at noon. A visitation with the family will precede that morning from 10 – 11:30 am. Interment will follow the services at the Lehi City Cemetery.
