Shirley Lee Neel's Obituary
In Loving memory of my kind and loving husband, Shirley Lee Neel.
Shirley Lee Neel passed away on May 29, 2019 at his home in Kearns, Utah. Shirley was born October 2, 1950 in Lehi, Utah to Joyce and Shirley Neel Sr.
Shirley “Lee” graduated from Lehi High School in 1968. He then served in the United Stated Air Force for 8 years during the Vietnam War. He later began a career in heavy equipment mechanics and welding. He retired as a Staff Sargent from the Utah Army Nation Guard. Shirley was so proud to be able to have served his country.
Shirley was a jack of all trades and a hard worker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and loved his trips to Wendover with his wife. Many of his close friends and family knew him as “Paa”. Some would take him as a work hardened grump but when they soon got to know him, they found a true, honest, fun loving gentleman. He was a real tease and continued his fun loving humor right up to the end. Shirley enjoyed helping everyone with his amazing knowledge of so many things.
Shirley is survived by his wife Yvonne Neel, his sons and daughters, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his two siblings. Shirley was loved by so many and he gave his love, support and protection to so many. Shirley will be greatly missed by friends and family, especially by his wife Yvonne.
Military honors and a memorial will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park. 17111 South Camp Williams Rd. Bluffdale, Utah 84065
