Shonnie Dorlene Whitmeyer's Obituary
Shonnie Dorlene Whitmeyer passed away unexpectedly at the Intermountain Regional Medical Center on July 7, 2023. Born on September 18, 1964, Shonnie was the oldest child of Jess & Suzann Oakley, of Salt Lake City. Her & her two younger siblings, Shellie & Jessie, grew up in that area. Shonnie attended West High. From her first marriage, she had two wonderful children, Nicole (Weist) Fenton & William Weist, who she adored.
On April 26, 1998 she married Mark Whitmeyer in Reno, Nevada. She then became a loved stepmother to Nicole & Richie Whitmeyer.
A gypsy at heart, Shonnie traveled and lived in many states. She enjoyed the simple things in life, cooking, crafting and adventures with her grandkids. Those who knew Shonnie enjoyed her carefree lifestyle & tenacious attitude to get things done. Her sassy attitude, sarcastic wit & sense of humor will be missed by her family & friends. She is survived by her mother, husband, children and ten grandchildren. Shonnie was proceeded in death by her father. A private ceremony with her immediate family members was held July 8th. Condolences for the family will be received by Premier Funeral Services.
