Skyler Lee Bowerbank's Obituary
Skyler returned home to his loving Heavenly Father on October 10, 2024. He fought several different battles throughout his short life and is now free of those challenges. We are grateful to have had him in our lives and are deeply saddened by his passing.
Skyler was born in April of 1997 to Brenda Bowerbank and Wendell Mahoney. He was the youngest of 9 siblings. He grew up in the Salt Lake Valley -Moving around quite a bit – This made it hard to create friendships, but the ones he made he held close. He had this fiery red hair that caused him to stand out in a crowd even while trying to hide in the shadows.
He graduated from high school early by getting a GED and started his college education by attending Salt Lake Community College. He was very smart, talented and enjoyed learning but mostly through hands-on experimenting (tinkering).
Later in life he would find his passion for cars by becoming a part of the Ford Taurus SHO enthusiast community. It was at car shows he shined in talking about these cars and their unique engine design. He also enjoyed racing his cars in the SCCA autocross events around Utah.
Skyler is survived by his parents Brenda Bowerbank and Wendell (Cheryl) Mahoney, his chosen grandparents Nick (Penny) Flake, siblings Stephanie (Shawn), Joseph, Tabatha, Charles (Randee), Martha and Rebecca. He is preceded in death by his three siblings; Lisa, Leland, and Scott Mahoney.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at the West Jordan East Stake Center. Located at 1899 West 7600 South, West Jordan, Utah at 10:00 am.
