Spencer Stephen Hales' Obituary
Our beloved Spencer Stephen Hales, 25, died October 20, 2012 from brain cancer at his home in Provo. He was born in Payson, Utah on March 5, 1987 to Stephen A. and Calli W. Hales, and was the oldest of their seven children. He loved his family, music, computers, reading, and the outdoors. He was a talented writer with a passion for good grammar. He was an Elder in the LDS Church, and served faithfully in every calling. He earned the Eagle Scout award, and attended Brigham Young University until he became ill. He worked as a graphic designer at his father’s company, most recently completing production design and photography work for President Boyd K. Packer’s latest book The Earth Shall Teach Thee. He is survived by his parents of Provo and his siblings Alexis Puglisi (Aaron), Matisse, Samuel, Christopher, Olivia and Hannah. He is also survived by his grandparents, Robert and Joan Hales of Santaquin and Gilbert and Maxine White of Payson. Spencer’s friends, including Tyler, Derek, Blake and Gina, added much to his life. In addition, he has enjoyed the kindness of many aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, ward members and leaders. We will all miss him, but are grateful that families are forever.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Provo East Stake Center, 667 N 600 E, Provo. A viewing will be held at the church prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment in the Provo City Cemetery. Please leave condolences at spencerhales.blogspot.com.
