Starley Doty Bush's Obituary
Starley Doty Bush
1929 - 2017
Starley Doty Bush, our dear husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend left us on December 15, 2017. Starley’s health had been declining for several years, but he fought bravely and fiercely to stay with his beloved Marge. His great big heart finally gave out and he returned to live with his Heavenly Father. We rejoice and take great comfort in his glorious reunion with Scotty and all he loved who have gone before. Starley was born in Bingham Canyon on April 25, 1929. He was 88 years old.
The most important things in Starley’s life were his family, the gospel of Jesus Christ and his testimony of its truthfulness. He passionately served others in many capacities. His favorite calling was serving a mission with Marge in the Addiction Recovery Program, sponsored by the LDS church. He loved his career in the Broadcast Industry for over 40 years. He was a recognized voice in radio and television and was greatly admired and respected among his fellow broadcasters. He realized his dream of retiring and spending his winters with Marge in the golf community of Palm Springs, enjoying the sunshine and warmth of family and friends who often visited. He was deeply loved and admired by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Starley was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Doty Bush, brother Robert Bush (Barbara), and son Scott Starley Bush. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marge, sons Reb (Marybeth), Brad (Joan), Chris and Lance and daughter Michelle Otvos (Rick) and eight grandchildren, Starley Robert, Allysen and Erin Bush, Elise and Kira Bush, Kelsie, Kourtnie, Brilee and Kambrie Bush, his sister Alyce Marie Brown (Van), and brother Terry (Misty) Bush.
