Stephanie King's Obituary
Stephanie King passed away on March 15, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer. She passed peacefully at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, surrounded with love.
Stephanie was born on December 24, 1980, in Salt Lake City to Nellie (“Nell”) Hull and Mitch Nielson. She grew up and attended school in Kearns.
Stephanie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved going on adventures, collecting seashells and agates along the Oregon coast, and taking long drives through the canyon in the fall to admire the changing colors of the leaves. Most of all, she was known for her playful spirit—especially her habit of pinching everyone’s ears, something her loved ones will always remember with a smile.
Stephanie is survived by her mother, Nell; her sibling, Clint (Sarra); her children, Kelsey (father Nicholas Vasquez), Cameron “C.J.”, and Hailey (father Robert King); her grandchild, Lincoln; her nieces, Alexis (“Lexi”) and Kennedy (“Didi”); and her nephew, Jet.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sharon VanAmen; her grandfather, Theodorus (“Theo”) VanAmen; and her partner, Joseph (“J.R.”) O’Reilly.
Stephanie’s great humor and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Luis Huriostigue, as well as the compassionate staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, for their care and support.
