Stephen Burton's Obituary
Stephen Burton, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 66. He was surrounded by his family at his home in Holladay, Utah, where he had lived for many years. Stephen was born in Salt Lake City on August 22, 1956 and was an attentive and incredible brother to his younger siblings & caretaker to his parents.
Stephen was married to his sweetheart, LaNae, for 36 years. They shared a deep love and respect for each other, and their marriage was a true example of what it means to be committed to someone for life. Together, they raised their pride and joy Bergandee. Stephen often talked about how happy she made him. They have ultimate father daughter relationship.
He adored Rynell & Brannon as his own.
He was a devoted grandfather to Jade, Clifton, Kobe, Rylie, Lexington, Wesley and Luke who were the light of his life.
Stephen was a man of many talents and interests. As a young man, he was musically talanted and was able to be in promised valley in Salt Lake City ,he was an all-star baseball player at Cottonwood High School, where he was known for his skill and dedication to the game. He was part of the scout Jamboree growing up where he traveled to many countries. He also studied design of clothing and loved photography and spent much of his free time capturing the beauty of the world around him. In fact, he was so passionate about picture framing that he owned his own business, which he sold later in life.
In his later years, Stephen worked at NU Packaging, where he was highly respected and loved by his colleagues. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. He was known for his strong work ethic and his unwavering commitment to his clients.
Stephen was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his faith was a central part of his life. He loved his savior, Jesus Christ, and dedicated much of his time to serving others and sharing his beliefs with those around him. His faith gave him strength and comfort throughout his life, and he was an inspiration to all who knew him.
One of Stephen's greatest joys in life was his love of animals. He was especially fond of his Great Danes, Charlee, Finlee, and Addee, who brought him joy and companionship throughout his life. He loved spending time with them, taking them on walks, and playing with them at various parks.
Stephen will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by LaNae, Bergandee (Josh) Rynell (Ryan) and Brannon and his grandkids Jade, Clifton (Mia) Koby, Riley, Lexington, Wesley, and Luke. His kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of so many people, and his legacy will live on through his family and friends. We take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with loved ones who have passed before him and that he is at peace in the arms of his savior. Rest in peace, Stephen, and know that you will always be loved and remembered. We hope you are are enjoying your ice cold glass of water with Jesus.
