Stephen Paul Peck “Big Peck”. July 11, 1972 - May 20, 2026
At the age of 53, Big Peck passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones after a hard, brave battle with cancer.
Born July 11, 1972 to Alma Morecroft. He lived in Utah all his life. Learning to fight at a young age and growing up fast and hard, he found himself in trouble at times. He was very protective of his sisters: Rainna Peck, Muggie, and sister Christie, wanting nothing but the best for them.
He met Danette and at the age of 16 he became a proud father to Stephen, breaking cycles of abuse and giving Cleo and Alma their first grandchild. Taking on the responsibility of raising Stephen on his own, they grew up together. Being such an amazing dad with such a big heart he also raised 3 beautiful daughters Gabby, Monique and Leah. Picking up others on the way, becoming like a second dad to many of Stephen’s friends. He made life long friends everywhere he went. Always helping others in any way possible. Whether it was a place to stay, food to eat, getting clean or just giving good advice.
He enjoyed road trips. Fishing and watching the chiefs play (preferably winning the game) was his thing. He was a poet. He loved Tupac and was inspired to be a rapper. He and Stephen would go on to make music together and share the stage at local shows.
Besides being a father, his greatest joy in life was being a grandfather. “Grumpa” as some of them called him. He cherished every moment with them. Going to every event possible and telling everyone how proud he was of his grandchildren. Though the cards were stacked against him most of the time he always found a way through with a smile on his face, still inspiring others along the way.
He is survived by his mother in law Cleo Bird (Julien). Children: Stephen Daniel Peck (Leah), Monique Shambree Asher and Gabby Tori McClister. Siblings: Rainna Brown (Rob), Misty Gutierrez (Anthony), Christie Lee (Stephanie), Valarie Gabaldon, Kim McGuire, Mike McGuire (Beth), and Paul Peck. Grandchildren: Julien, Royce, Ian, Elyana, Teagan and Tommy. Uncle to:
Corinne, Seleana, Joe, Shealee, Robbie, Michael, Domenic, Samuel, Xavier, Sophiya,
DeVaughn, Jerzei, James, Levonne, Stephen, Michael, Andrea, Casey, Heather and Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his mother Alma, Aunt Debbie, cousin Jessie, a twin sister that passed away in the womb and many more.
His laughter, smile and life advice will be greatly missed by everyone. “PECK - YEAH!”
