Sterling was a neighbor and a great friend in high school. He decided one day while we were driving around to go up North Ogden Pass. The pass was close except for 4 wheelers but he thought his car could make it up. He didn’t drive far before we were stuck. We tried everything we could think of to get out; dirt, limbs, clothe. It started to get dark and cold. We thought we might have to hike down in the freezing dark when an man in a 4 wheeler came and pulled us out. A plane had spotted us and alerted him to help us. Sterling had a great sense of humor and infectious laugh. I am sad to hear of his passing. Randy Williams
I remember as a young boy, my uncle Sterling took me up fishing at Causey reservoir. Still remember the ride in his truck and the minor collision with a deer that left a little patch of fur on his paint. Then the truck wouldn’t start….until he realized it was out of gear. I didn’t realize that as a young boy, but just remember we figured it out after a short prayer. It was a fun trip! Glad I have that memory.
