Sterling George LeFevre's Obituary
Sterling George LeFevre, 72, of Provo, Utah passed away on Thursday November 11, 2010. Sterling was born September 7, 1938, in Spry, Utah. He was the ninth child and fifth son of twelve children born to Stanley and Sylvia Ann Haycock LeFevre. He moved with his family to Leland, and later to Orem, where he spent most of his childhood. Sterling served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Shirley Marie Rukavina, November 1, 1965, in Pleasant Grove, Utah. They have lived the majority of their married life in Provo. Enjoying the simple things in life was one of Sterling’s pleasures. He placed little value on material possessions. Entertaining children with a new joke or exaggerated story, and getting them to laugh brought him happiness. He was a friendly person and treasured his associations with co-workers during his years of employment with Magelby’s and Excelsior in Provo. He also worked at Jahawbo, Mity Lite, and Mountain Country Foods. A man of meager means and a big heart, Sterling was accepting of others and did not focus on their short comings. He was quick and willing to offer help if he saw a need. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent time enjoying the beauties of nature. Sterling was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Stanley D. (Mary) LeFevre, Luke Conard (Rose) LeFevre, Harold Alma (Lorene) LeFevre, and sisters; Gloria Mae (Robert) Whaley, Myra Joy Anderson, Julia Carroll LeFevre, Sylvia Gwen (Donald V.) Harrison, and in-laws Jack and Maude Rukavina. Sterling is survived by his wife Shirley, step children Tom (Jeanette) Kummer, and Cheryl Henry, their children and grandchildren. Siblings Thomas Grant (Jennie) LeFevre, Golden Kimball (Marcia) LeFevre, Melody Kathleen (Lynn) Culmer, Jeannie Marie (Ralph) Jex and brother-in-law Jack (Arlette) Rukavina, as well as several cousins, nephews, and nieces. We would like to extend a sincere heartfelt thank you to the staff at Country View Manor, and Hearts for Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Sterling. A Memorial service will be held 1:00pm, Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Provo 1st Ward Chapel, 200 South 100 East, Provo, Utah. Graveside memorial and interment of ashes will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Panguitch City Cemetery, Panguitch, Utah.
