Steven Anton Boss' Obituary
Steve was born to goodly parents, Gordon Mann and Rosemary Connell Boss, on January 21, 1962, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Steve was the oldest of four children. At a young age, he grew to love sports; he particularly loved baseball, basketball, and football. He played on both the Skyline High School Baseball team and the University of Utah Baseball team. Steve served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kentucky, Louisville Mission. After his mission, Steve met the love of his life, Hollie Ruth Oswald. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on October 29, 1992. The next ten years brought five beautiful children of whom Steve was very proud.
Steve's family and friends admired his many Christlike qualities. He had an incredible gift and ability to share love and laughter with those around him. Steve personified loyalty; he was an extremely loyal fan of the University of Utah sports teams as well as the Chicago Bears. Most importantly, he was an incredibly loyal fan to his wife and children. Steve was always hard at work to provide a wonderful life for his family and took pride in owning his own business Boss Field Services. Through his work at the company and many home projects, he taught his children to love hard work. Steve’s most rewarding job was being a coach for the Cyprus Pirate’s baseball team with Bob Fratto. Here, lifelong friendships were made as boys turned into men. While coaching, they made the slogan “Never Say Die” which became Steve’s lifelong mantra. For the last 18 years Steve battled serious health issues and eluded death multiple times. His grit, determination, and iron will could not be matched. Even though he lost his battle with cancer, he won the battle of life. He was welcomed into the spirit world by his Heavenly Parents and Savior as well as his parents, friends, and heavenly grandchildren on Sunday June 8, 2025.
We love you Steve and already miss you dearly.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Hollie Boss, his children Gabrielle (Jordan Page), Hali (Carter Brown), Alexandra, Savannah, and Steven G. (Callie), as well as his siblings Greg Boss (Natalie), Lisa Petersen (Rees), and Tricia Eliason (Greg) and his most recent joy, his granddaughter Adelaide Ruth.
