Steven Tenney Quilter's Obituary
Steven Tenney Quilter passed away Friday, July 31st 2015, with his children and dear wife by his side. Steve was born in Salt Lake City on December 29th 1953 to Melvin and Clara Quilter. He married the love of his life, Gayla Haacke, on May 1st 1976. Together they had four children.
Steve had a knack for making those around him laugh by always being the life of the party. His smile and his laugh were contagious. He found joy in being with his family and making memories with them. Many of those memories were made on the Islands of Hawaii. His 9 Grandchildren were the light of his life. Family meant everything to him. Steve spent countless hours in his greenhouses and many were blessed by the beauty he brought to the world through his talent of gardening. He enjoyed his career as a land surveyor. Steve faithfully fulfilled various callings in his church, his favorite being in the Nursery where he lovingly served for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Gayla; children Chris (Sarah) Quilter, Chad (Margie) Quilter, Kami (Ryan) Waite and Chelsea Quilter. He is also survived by his siblings; Rex, Carole, Bryce, and Lisa as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, August 8th 2015 at the Gardens Chapel located at 9 West 550 South in Kaysville Utah. Friends and family are invited to visit at the church Friday from 6-8 pm and Saturday morning prior to services from 9:45 - 10:45 am prior to services.
