Steven Ray Routier's Obituary
After a valiant battle with an aggressive cancer, Steven Ray Routier of Magna, Utah passed away on September 12, 2022 while in Hospice Care at the age of 63. He was born December 13, 1958 in Augsburg, Germany, to the son of late LaVerne Joseph Routier and Marian Routier of Columbus, Georgia.
He leaves behind his wife, Lenda Jennings-Routier; his daughter, Brittany Rutledge (Levi); his mother, Marian Routier; his sister, Cheryl Hargett (Steve); step-children, John Clark (Wendy), Cheri Polaco (Chris), Crystal Griffin (Cheyenne); and 8 grandchildren, Sophie, Kai, Christopher Jr., Taylor, Ariyana, CiCi, Lexi and Brooklyn. Preceded in death by his father LaVerne Routier, his brothers Robert Routier and Sonny Routier, and his step-daughter Alicia Griffin.
At a young age, Steven purchased his first guitar and played up until his passing. During the course of his life, he was in multiple bands, wrote and sang his own songs, and loved being a crowd pleaser. His idol was Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple. Steven was very much into "hair metal" and enjoyed playing cover songs by his favorite bands since playing guitar was his passion. Steven was also a classic car enthusiast.
Friends and family of Steven described him as a selfless person, always reaching out and checking in to make sure they knew they were loved and appreciated for being there for him. Steven's guitar skills were unmatched and everyone loved listening to him play.
