Susan Ray Allgood's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our dear mother Susan Ray Allgood. On June 9, Susan passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Susan was born March 28, 1948 in Tremonton, Utah to Don and Lola Ray. She grew up in Roy and later attended Roy High School, graduating with the inaugural class of 1966. She was well known for her endless compassion, continuously putting others before herself. She had a knack for finding the forgotten or underdog and would find a way to make them feel like family. She had the most genuine heart and sincere intentions, was an angel to so many and made those around her feel special.
Susan enjoyed sewing, writing poetry, aerobics, the Utah Jazz, working in her yard, spending time with family and friends, and was well known for her baking. It was through her baking that she shared her love with others. Most everyone was lucky enough to enjoy one of her amazing treats. She was an exceptionally hard worker and sacrificed much of herself to make sure her five children never went without, even if it meant working multiple jobs. SHE LOVED BEING A MOM!
It cannot go without mention her immense love for her dogs. To her, they were like children and she treated them like such. She could scarcely be seen without one of her fur babies by her side.
Susan retired from Hill Air Force Base on December 31, 2011 after working twenty-nine and a half years. She enjoyed the numerous friendships she made during her time spent there. Susan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed her many callings over the years, which increased her love for her Savior.
Susan is survived by her children, Tina (Jeremy) Wright, Shane Burroughs, Brett (Nikki) Burroughs, Kristen (Brandon) Nelson, Brandon Burroughs, 16 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, as well as her loving brothers (2) and sisters (3). She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the dedicated loving staff at Lotus Park Assisted Living, who gave our mother great care and compassion during her stay. And, to her sisters who spent countless hours caring for their older sister. We could not have done this without you!
Mom,
It was an honor and a privilege to have you in our life. We will be forever blessed to call you Mom!
The Family will meet with friends on Sunday June 14th, 2020 from 6:00-8:00pm at Premier Mortuary, 5335 S 1950 W, Roy Utah.
A family viewing will be held on Monday June 15th from 9:30-10:30am followed by a graveside service at Roy Cemetery at 11:00am.
