Susan Elaine Grasley Marshall's Obituary
Susan Elaine Grasley was born on April 12, 1958 in Portland, Oregon to Ronald and JoAnn Grasley. Susan passed away unexpectedly in her home on September 15, 2020. She grew up in Portland, Oregon and is the 2nd of 5 children Deb (Kelly) Winward, Nan Small, Andrew (Marianne) Grasley, and Judie Honda. As a child Susan was known to be quiet, but very observant. Those who knew her understood when Susan spoke-up she wanted everyone to listen.
After high school Susan went to Rexburg, Idaho to begin her college education. Susan felt strongly she was meant to move to Utah, so she packed her bags and went on the adventure of finding her eternal companion.
On May 21, 1982 Susan married Jay Marshall for time and all eternity, in the Provo, Utah temple of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Susan soon became a busy mom of 3 children. With the oldest as Jared Ron (Miriam) Marshall soon to follow is Elise JoAnn (Kris) Smith and the Caboose, Tyler Keith Marshall. She is the proud grandmother to Jack and Kona (deceased) Marshall. She loved to facetime Jack whenever she got the chance to.
Susan loved to color, crochet, read and all things having to do with the arts. She loved most of all camping with her family. Susan loved playing board and card games. She was always up for an adventure.
The Gospel meant everything to Susan. She was often reading talks, scriptures, and listening to church music. Susan was known to go to church early to enjoy the prelude music. Susan was known to greet everyone who walked in. She was kind to all she met.
Susan worked with those who had special needs for 37 years. She loved every minute of helping others.
One of Susan’s favorite church callings was to serve in the Mount Timpanogos Utah temple for 7 years. Susan is missed as a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, grandma, friend, and most importantly daughter of God. Susan saw the worth in every person she met. She always wanted others to know they are loved.
Susan is preceded in death by her mother, JoAnn Grasley and her grandson Kona Marshall.
A viewing will be held on Saturday September 19th from 09:30am – 10:30am
Funeral services will follow at 11:00am.
All are welcome to attend the services at the LDS chapel at 546 N. 500 W. Orem, Utah.
