Susan Gretchen Darrah Wilson's Obituary
Susan Gretchen Darrah Wilson, born June 15, 1949, joined her forever loving husband and daughter on January 22, 2021 she was 71
Susan was born in Waltham, Massachusetts to Gilbert and Clara Darrah and spent her childhood exploring the country moving from different Bases as her father was in the Air Force. She landed and planted her roots in Clearfield, Utah where she graduated from Clearfield High School. It was then, that she met and married the love of her life and soul mate, Jack, where they shared 53 years of marriage and had 4 daughters and one foster daughter.
Susan owned and operated 2 Pearl Vision Centers in Ogden however, later retired from Defense Mapping Agency. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed many callings. Her favorite was working at the Ogden Temple with her husband.
Susan suffered from a debilitating disease for the better part of 30 years but she never let that get in the way of doing everything she could for her family. She enjoyed crafting and was a master at crochet. Her greatest joys were that of her 12 grandchildren and 1 Great grandson.
Susan is survived by her daughters Lisa Maze (Mike), Melanie Gibson (Jeff), Carol Deskins (Gary), and Nina Flynn (John)
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack, her parents Gilbert and Clara Darrah, her in-laws Jack and Mary Wilson her only sister, Theresa and her daughter Heidi.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 28 at 12:00pm at the 11th ward LDS chapel 1245 South 1175 East, Clearfield, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10am-12pm prior to the service. Internment will be at the Clearfield city cemetery.
