Suzanne Gallacher Kind-Shupe's Obituary
Suzanne, age 65, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on April 21, 2020 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s associated with MS.
Sue was born July 10, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Donald Gallacher and Virginia Askerlund. After graduating from Cottonwood High School she started her career at the phone company, when she was 19, in directory assistance. Sue worked her entire career at the phone company moving up in departments until her retirement in 2010. Sue married Gary Kind in 1979, and together they had a daughter, Cicily. She later married Doug Shupe in 2013.
She loved spending time with family and cross stitching. Sue loved the color pink and you would seldom see her not wearing it from head to toe (She called pink her happy color). Her happy place was in her garden, tending to her flowers. Sue had her “Suisms” that made people smile. She loved her dog, Angel.
Sue is survived by her devoted husband, Doug and daughter, Cicily; mother, Virginia; sisters, Cindy (John), Stacey, and Wendy (Jeri), and brothers Tim (Laura) and Craig; step daughters, Jamie and Tiffany; seven wonderful grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Don Gallacher and step son DJ Shupe.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on her birthday from 5-8:00 pm, Friday, July 10, 2020 at Labrum Park, 6150 South 1880 West, Taylorsville, Utah. Her final resting place is Mount Olivet Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah.
