Suzette Camille Ogaard Penman's Obituary
Suzette Camille Ogaard Penman, age 74, passed away surrounded by love and embraced by her family on Sunday April 24, 2022.
Sue was born on March 20, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Eudora and Norman Ogaard. She was the eldest sister to 5 siblings whom she loved dearly. She attended Granger High School in West Valley City where she had made numerous friends.
She met her beloved soulmate Terrance Lyn Penman at Liberty Park on July 24, 1975, under the Pioneer Day fireworks. They loved each other so much, they were married just a few months later on Valentine’s Day in 1976. They spent 46 wonderful years together.
Sue spent most of her time in the garden, working as a professional gardener but also maintaining her own beautiful yard and garden at home. Rain or shine, it was always known that if you couldn’t find Sue, she was outside in the garden. Unless she was in Wendover, then you could always find her hitting jackpots on the slot machines and boy, she sure hit a lot of them! Sue loved the outdoors and spent most summers camping with her family in the mountains, swimming at the lake or hosting pool parties at her house, where the whole family would get together for barbecues. Sue was a family woman and found true happiness when she was surrounded by the people she loved the most. She never had a bad word to say about anyone, she very rarely raised her voice, and she didn’t have a mean bone in her body. Her family will forever remember and miss her kindness, her spunky attitude, and her wit.
Sue is survived by her husband Terrance Penman, her 3 daughters, Shelly Mitchell, Kelly (Fred) Raso, Barbie (Noah) Surfass, her grandchildren Amber (Sandel) Briggs, Brandon Simmons, Braiden Simmons, Ali Kate (Brady) Halland, Sierra (Jordan) O’Neal, Fredo Raso, Cyrus Raso, her great-grandchildren Aliyah Simmons, Hildi, Nels and Erland Halland, her 2 sisters, Sherry (Joe) Gonzales, Lisa (Mike) Olsen and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly. Sue is proceeded in death by her parents Eudora and Norman Ogaard and her brothers Mike, Norman, and Ron.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, 4/28 from 6-8pm at Premier Funeral Home, located at 67 East 8000 South in Midvale, Utah. The funeral will be held at the same location on Friday, 4/29 from 11:30am - 1pm, with a viewing being held from 10:30-11:30. Graveside services will be held at 2pm at the Bountiful City Cemetery at 2224 South 200 West in Bountiful, Utah.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Canyon Home and Hospice for their kindness and generosity.
