Tanya Lynnette Johnson Uluakiola's Obituary
Tanya Lynnette Johnson ‘Uluakiola passed away at home on October 8, 2024, at the age of 53 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tanya was born on September 26, 1971, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Michael and Sharon Johnson. She attended Copperas Cove High School in Copperas Cove, Texas, until her senior year, when her family relocated to Würzburg, Germany. Tanya graduated from Würzburg American High
School in 1989 and later completed coursework at Brigham Young University. In 2012, she married John ‘Uluakiola. The two were sealed in the Manti, Utah temple for time and all eternity.
Tanya is survived by her beloved daughter, Vivienne Lynnsie; her loving husband, John Fred; her parents; and her three younger siblings: Nicole Menssen, Mike Johnson, and Kristin Tudsandos.
Tanya was a vivacious and spirited person who brought joy and ‘sparkle’ to everyone she met. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she participated actively in the Tongan ward in Lehi and loved to sing tenor in church. You could often find Tanya at BYU football
and baseball games, and on long drives across the country with her family, especially to national parks. Professionally, she was known for her leadership and was recognized at Shipley Associates as the head of a Six Sigma Tiger Team, where she inspired her team to perform at their best.
She had many other successes as a consultant, proposal writer and editor, and project manager. Tanya also adored her precious white, long-haired cats, Luna and Stella, who were her constant “foofy” companions.
Funeral services for Tanya will be on Tuesday, October 15th at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel at 1120 North 150 West, American Fork, Utah. In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist with funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be sent to Viv Johnson via Venmo @vilyjo. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Elevation Hospice, especially Holly and Ari, for their care of Tanya over the past four months.
