Teresa Ann Merideth's Obituary
Teresa Ann Merideth peacefully passed away Tuesday, March 12th, 2013 in her home, surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She courageously battled cancer for 16 years, never giving up the fight or complaining of her circumstances. She was born on September 22, 1957 in Bluefield, West Virginia. Teresa spent her early years growing up in Spokane, WA until her family moved to Livermore, CA. While in Livermore at the age of 11, Teresa met the 11-yr-old boy across the street who soon became her best friend, eventually her true love, and finally her eternal husband.
Teresa devoted her life to her family and God. Her patience and selfless service were two of her most distinctive qualities. She took great pleasure in family gatherings and meals, and worked tirelessly to ensure the quality and success of every family event. Her kindness, wisdom and sweet disposition made her a trusted and frequent source of comfort and counsel for many. Teresa had two maxims she frequently quoted to her children as a code of conduct - "Mind over matter" and "fear is the opposite of faith." She lived her entire life by these two maxims, which left an indelible imprint and powerful example for her family.
Teresa is the mother of 5 children and 15 grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her son Aaron James Merideth. She is survived by her husband Paul; 4 children Rachel Hansen, Laura Gilbert, Jason Merideth, and Leslie Smith; mother Phyllis Vance; sisters Susan Garlich and Aimee Kincer; brothers Scott Riggin and Darin Riggin and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Traverse Mountain Stake building, 2030 W. Chapel Ridge Road, Lehi on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00am. A family-only viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:00am.
