Teri Lee Harris' Obituary
Teri was the second daughter of three born to Louis Eugene and Miriam Tuttle. Harris. Utah Valley was where she chose to enter this life October 14, 1946, as her father was using his GI bill to finish his degree. Her big blue eyes and dark hair brought much attention. Teri and her trike were known all over the neighborhood. Calling parties were frequently convened in her honor. During her adolescent years, the trike gave-way to a scooter, roller skates and walks in the woods with Rocky, the family’s German shepherd. Junior high was followed by graduation from Arvada West HS and a permanent move to Arvada, CO.
A short stint in dental assisting brought her to Provo where she remained for the next 40+ years. Although she never married, Teri was “mother” to “her boys” at the Utah State Training School. Few had the patience, dedication and unconditional love that Teri expressed toward her brood. They were certainly her pride and joy! After 38 years of loyal, dedicated and self-less service, she retired and then spent the next 4 years assisting in her mother’s care until her passing this March.
Teri's kindness, innocence, and trustworthiness was well-known both at work and in her everyday life, she would be the first to donate 2 weeks time to an ill co-worker or money for a displaced family in the community. Her reputation as “the sweet one” was well known. She loved a good play-on-words and “she just thought it up!”
Among her favorites were the Denver Broncos, bobble-heads, Hallmark cards, a great Ruby River rib- eye, mixed nuts, her 1991 Corolla, dental floss, her Barca Lounger, Crocs and watching “The Masters” golf annually. With Teri, life was Simple and Good!
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Provo 3rd Ward Chapel, 1066 West 200 North, Provo, Utah. Family and friends may call from 10-10:45 am prior to the service. Interment in the Provo City Cemetery.
She is survived by her sisters Jill (Joe) Garruto and Heidi Oaklief both of CO and many nieces and nephews. Farewell sweet sister, til we meet again!
