Terri Heaps' Obituary
Terri Heaps, age 66, of Sandy, Utah, returned home to her Heavenly Father after a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family.
Terri was born on February 21, 1959. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Jared Soderman, Joshua (Wendy) Noriega, Dreanda Zavala, and Carmina Zavala. Terri loved all her children equally and unconditionally, finding deep joy and purpose in being their mother. She was also a proud grandmother to Hailey, Jordan, Catalina, Titus, Kennedy, Revan, Malak, and Astoria — each of whom brought her endless happiness and light.
Terri is also survived by her stepmother, Merlynne Heaps; her stepfather, Björn Wang; her brother, Corey (Carolyn) Heaps; and her brother-in-law, Robert Shiner. She is further survived by many extended family members including friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts, all of whom she loved dearly. Terri cherished family above all else and found great joy in spending time with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Heaps and Charlene Wang; her brother, Lane Heaps; her sister, Julie Shiner; and her nephews, Colby Rasmason and Jacob Shiner. Terri found great comfort in her faith and often spoke of the joy of eternal families and the hope of reunion with loved ones beyond the veil.
Terri was known for her deep love of animals, especially her dogs, who were like family to her. She had a special talent for creating beauty in everything she did — from her sewing and painting to her crafts and the way she tended to her flowers. Her gentle spirit, kindness, laughter and creativity touched the lives of all who knew her. She was also one of the strongest women you'll ever meet.
Terri was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she found peace in the gospel and the promise of eternal life. Those who love her take comfort in knowing she is now surrounded by love and peace in her heavenly home, reunited with family and pets who welcomed her with open arms.
Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 8825 S Monroe St, Sandy, Utah 84070 on Nov. 15, 2025 at 10AM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her beautiful life and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
