Terry Al Krug

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Terry A. Krug, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. On May 1, 2024, at the age of 63, Terry left this world unexpectedly after a valiant battle with complications from blood clots, brain bleeds, and infections. Born on August 17, 1960, in Utah, Terry was the eldest of four children to Ardis Jane Brower and Albert Henry Krug Jr. His family moved frequently during his childhood, leading him to discover a profound love for reading, especially science fiction and fantasy novels that transported him to worlds of adventure and escape. In addition to his literary pursuits, Terry enjoyed sports, including football, baseball, and even ballroom dancing, which his mother hoped would instill grace befitting his towering stature. In January 1985, Terry met the love of his life, Annette, through a serendipitous encounter orchestrated by his father. Their connection was instant, and on June 7, 1985, they embarked on a lifelong journey together as husband and wife, a bond that would have celebrated its 39th anniversary just weeks after Terry's passing. Terry and Annette were blessed with two amazing daughters, Brittany Ann Krug-Childs and Alyssa Rochelle Krug-Urban, who were the lights of Terry's life. As a devoted father, he imparted his love for classic rock, adventure, love of the outdoors, and teaching them invaluable skills; including motorcycle riding, car maintenance, and basic construction. Professionally, Terry dedicated his career to IT, working for small companies and nonprofits, including United Way, where he found immense fulfillment in serving his community. He later transitioned to Delta Airlines, where he was just four years away from retirement. Terry's generosity knew no bounds. Alongside his wife, he founded the charity "Cradles for Christmas," creating toy bundles for underprivileged children through United Way. He also supported his daughter's non-profit, The Foundation for the Prevention of Violence, exemplifying his commitment to making a positive impact. In his leisure time, Terry embraced the great outdoors, spending summers camping, hiking, indulging in his beloved dirt biking, motorcycle riding and snowmobiling. He found solace in nature's beauty and tranquility, and his love for reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, such as "The Lord of the Rings" and Brandon Sanderson's works, provided an escape into realms of imagination. Terry's dry and sarcastic sense of humor was legendary, often quoting lines from his favorite movies, including "The Princess Bride" and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," bringing laughter and joy to those around him. Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Annette Johnson; daughters Alyssa Krug-Urban (husband Cameron Urban) and granddaughter Charlotte, Brittany Childs (husband Bryan Childs); brother Kevin Krug; and sisters Tami Frederickson and Kristee Watts. A celebration of Terry's remarkable life will be held on May 18, 2024, at noon, at 450 E. 2000 N. Orem, Utah 84097. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather and honor the memory of this gentle giant, whose kindness, generosity, and zest for life touched countless hearts.
