Terry "Bud" Price's Obituary
On July 16th, 2024, we discovered that our father, grandfather, and friend, Terry “Bud” Price, had passed away peacefully in his sleep at 70 years old. His passing was an unexpected shock to everyone, and he will be greatly missed.
Bud was born March 29th, 1954, to Ida and Alden Price. He was raised with his 5 siblings in Ogden Utah.
Bud graduated from Ogden High School in 1973. He went on to work in the automotive industry working in various positions with Autoliv (Morton), Ogden Auto, and Calendar Systems. He also tended bar at various venues, events, and parties for friends and family and was always the life of the party.
Bud Price was a generous friend that everyone knew. No matter where he went, he was able to strike up a conversation with anyone and keep it going for hours. This applied tenfold to his close friends and family, who he would regularly check up on to make sure they were ok. He was always going the extra mile for those he cared for whether it be a financial need, to turn a wrench, or just be a friendly shoulder to help carry your burden.
Bud also took a heavy pride in his family, be it his children, their spouses, his dogs, or especially his grandchildren. He would constantly talk about the various accomplishments his family had completed, or simply about how great they were. His dogs, despite his bellyaching, had become an important part of his life, and had led to him rescuing 7 dogs over the course of his life. Even then, he would still say his dogs belonged to his grandchildren.
It was this pride that was his best, and worst, quality. He never walked away from the chance to help those he loved. However, he would often deny help or would keep his problems secret from his family to handle himself. His passing teaches a simple but powerful lesson, to accept love and support from those who love you the most, and to realize that to those people you are never a burden.
Bud Price is survived by his son, Austin (Brianna) Price. Brothers Larry (Janet) Price, Dale (Chantel) Price. And sister Judy (Michael) Barnes. Four grandchildren, Emma Price, Daxtin Price, Ethan Decaria, and Xander Decaria. And his two dogs Digger and Bandit.
Bud’s passing was celebrated in heaven by those who passed before him. At the front of the line was his beautiful daughter Brooke Price Sciancalepore, his mother and father Ida and Alden, his sister Lois Rasmussen, brother Eddie Price, and many other family members and friends.
Due to his unexpected passing a celebration of life will be held in honor of Bud later this year. The family requests your patience while they work diligently to finalize Bud’s affairs.
Bud's dogs held a special place in his heart, in lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to your local animal shelter or pet rescue.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on September 21st from 11 am - 2pm at Ogden's First United Methodist Church, 1339 W 400 N, Marriott-Slaterville, UT 84404.
