Teruko Endo's Obituary
Teruko "Terry" Endo came into this world in Wilmington, California, on March 22, 1936. Her father was Kintoro Endo and her mother Toyo Endo. Her siblings were brother Kazuo, and sisters, Kimiko and Toshiko. Terry passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023 in Provo, Utah, the last of her generation.
She grew up working in agriculture along with the rest of their family. They moved to Utah when Terry was young and lived in the Clinton and Clearfield area. She will now rejoin the rest of her family in eternity. She was also predeceased by nephew Bill Kajiyama and niece Peggy Pearson. She is survived by niece Nancy Pearson, nephew Kenny Kajiyama, nieces Debbie Trujillo, Kristy Coles, Kimiko Coles, Brandy Smith, and nephews Travis Pearson and Nathen (Sandra) Pearson and family.
Terry grew into a beautiful young lady. She was very independent and progressed through life, experiencing the highs and lows that shape us into the people that we are. Terry was very private about her life story, but we know that life led her to be a great friend and caring person. She loved dogs and would go out of her way to help with the care of others' dogs after the loss of her own. She loved to fish and carried an old, expired fishing license in her wallet. She loved to roller skate at Ritz Classic and would dance around the rink. She shared her lovely voice with a singing group at the 10th East Senior Center. She so enjoyed going around the valley for their performances. A few years ago, you could find her on long walks around the downtown area. She walked everywhere! It was nothing for her to walk from 200 W to 1000 E, which is quite a hike! Later on, problems with her eyesight kept her closer to home, but she was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Another of Terry's pleasures in life was watching her beloved Jazz play basketball.
Terry was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed the peace that the church brought into her life and participated in all the activities that she could. She enjoyed the lovely celebrations that recognized the elderly in the ward. Elder and Sister Gong were especially loved by her. She also enjoyed attending the Buddhist Obon dancing in the street near her apartment where she would meet with her family and enjoy the celebration.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Royal, who was of great assistance in helping them clear her apartment for her move to assisted living. And many thanks to her special friend Charlene Pineda for her help and assistance to Terry over the past several years.
Friends are welcome to attend a graveside service to celebrate Terry's life on Friday, July 21, at 10:00 am at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S, Salt Lake City, 84117.
