Thomas Michael Brenchley's Obituary
Mike passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022. He was born on May 25, 1941 in Los Angeles, California to great parents Tom and Norma Brenchley who he deeply loved. Mike moved with his family to Utah in 1946 where he lived in Roy. He attended Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High school in 1959. He served in the Army National Guard. At age 19 he started working for the Mountain Bell Telephone Co. until his retirement, after 30 years, at age 49.
After retirement, he enjoyed his main hobby of restoring many cars, Honda motorcycles and even his uncle Bruce’s farm tractor. His pride and joy restoration was a red and white 1959 Nash Metropolitan which he named “Tinker”. He loved going to many shows with Tinker and won many trophies including the Ogden 25TH Anniversary Best of Show in August 23, 2003 at Union Station. Mike loved his life and said “he wouldn’t change anything about his life and had no regrets.”
Mike is survived by three sisters Karelee Carney, Pat Johansen, Pam (Jerry) Harper and one brother Chris Brenchley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his special friend Suzie Oborn.
Thanks to all the staff at Barrington Place including Jenni for your extra care to Mike and those biscuits and gravy breakfasts that he loved. Thanks to APlus Hospice for their excellent care in Mike’s final days. The family would like to offer a special heartfelt thanks to Quinsie who Mike dearly loved and formed a special bond with. She brought great joy to Mike and his family while at Barrington.
Mike will be interned in the Ogden City cemetery and the family will have a celebration of life at a later date
