Thomas Frederick Briggs Jr.'s Obituary
Thomas Frederick Briggs, Jr. was born on June 10, 1956 in West Covina, California to Thomas Frederick Briggs, Sr. and Margaret Louise Snell. His family and many friends will miss his fun-loving personality, generous heart, and rebellious spirit.
He is survived by his three sisters, Kevin Lemke, Karen Poore, and Pamela Blackett; his four sons, Ryan Giralt Bedford, John Giralt Bedford, Larry Giralt Bedford, and Jordi Giralt Bedford; two daughters-in-law, Sachiko Tsunoda-Bedford and Madison Miller; and two granddaughters, Maria and Haruka Tsunoda-Bedford.
Tom moved out at sixteen and began a thirty-year career in the trucking and logistics industry, including with his longtime business partner and friend Nick under their co-owned company T&N in Saginaw, Michigan.
In the late spring of 1998 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Tom met the love of his life, Dr. Alicia Giralt, and they married a year later. He embraced Alicia’s four young boys as his own, selling his trucking business and dedicating himself to raising his new family. He gave his all to being a dad, from watching every soccer game and orchestra recital to teaching the boys to drive and cooking the best chili cheese burritos.
Tom put down roots in Ogden, Utah in 1999, where he discovered his passion for yoga, running, and fitness/wellness. He found kindred spirits and lifelong friends at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden. After several years of medical challenges, Tom passed away peacefully on August 12 under a double rainbow and reunited with his beloved Alicia.
