Thomas Gorton White's Obituary
Thomas G. White, 83, passed away Friday, April, 22, 2011 in Salt Lake City Utah, with his daughter by his side, after a courageous battle from an extended illness. He was born November 06, 1927, in Salem, Oregon, the son of Minnie Gorton and Harold White. Tom’s happiest memories were when traveling with the Merchant Marines during World War II. Tom was a logger in Oregon and had great stories to tell. Tom was one of the first to be selected as a transit specialist for the golden gate bridge in San Francisco. Tom was preceded in death by his son, Thomas C. White. Tom is survived by his sons, Mike A. White; Harold C. White; his daughter, Donna J. Gunnell; sisters, Shirley Turner and Marilee Werfhorst; three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. At his request, no funeral services will be held.
