When I first met Shane I thought he was a goofball. Over the last 3 years we grown to love and appreciate Shane and his love for life. His love for dogs and mostly the special love he had for Katie. Always willing to help anyway he could. The love that Shane and Katie shared lit up a room when they waked in, whether they were teasing each other, throwing a baseball or riding their one wheels down the middle of the street holding hands, using the moon light to show them the way home (or the headlights of the vehicle following them). These two loved each other wholeheartedly. They were more than just friends, they were and always will be SOULMATES. Shane your life on earth is over, but God's plans for you are not. I'm sure you already have your list of people and dogs to watch over. RIP my friend.

When Shane was born, a beautiful blue-eyed baby boy, Chantal and Tim could not have been prouder. Watching him grow into a happy, spunky toddler, Shane and I had a wonderful game where I would push him all around the house in his wagon, zooming from one room to the next, as he collected treasures. Truth is, I was just tricking him into helping me straighten things up, but I’m sure this experience sparked his love of going fast on wheels! I can still hear his laughter. Shane was also a good snowboarder. Once he convinced me to go all the way to the tippy top of Snowbird and we had a blast shushing all the way down together. Driving home after that awesome day on the slopes, Shane and I sang along with a song on the radio, and since then, to me this song is Shane’s song. I've included a link to it. My deep condolences to Shane’s parents. Chantal and Tim, my heart breaks for the painful loss you are feeling now. Tyson, Karalee and Tristan, your father was special. I hope in your lifetimes you rescue many dogs in your father’s honor. He would love that! To all who are grieving the passing of Shane, know that he would want you to always keep him in your heart, but understand now that he is at peace.

My amazing son Shane. When Shane loved, it was with all his heart. When something bad happened he was there to see if there was anything he could say or do or just to give them a hug. The love he had for his dad was unconditional and constant. He was so very proud of him and wanted nothing but happiness for him. Sometimes Shane had a hard time expressing his love but he learned how to show that affection, which made him all the more special. . Shane loved and cherished his children more than they will ever know. He wanted the best for them and wanted them to know he would always be there for them. And finally, he had found true love and happiness with Katie. Katie had three girls which Shane loved and adored. She let Shane be himself, which wasn’t easy at times. When I saw how happy he was with Katie it just made me smile when I saw the happiness in his beautiful blue eyes. I will always have Shane with me in my heart and will cherish our time together until we are united again. Love, Mom
