In loving memory of Tim
My mom’s brother, my charmingly handsome uncle Tim was almost always a happy guy. He was just like my grandpa (Popa) in many ways. He was born on the same day as my Popa.
Uncle Tim passed peacefully at home.
He lived his life as though everyone liked and accepted him and everyone was nice. He genuinely loved people and talking to them. He would hold doors open and engage in cheerful conversations, about anything. He had a childlike innocence about him. He was loved by all. I loved his mischievous giggle.
He was delighted by my aunt Janet’s and husband Steven’s kids. He loved being around the nursery kids of my grandparents business. He adored all of us, his nephews and nieces, but the younger cousins got the spoiling and attention. He also adored his great nieces and nephews. They were his delight. I believe that it was because he knew later, children of his own were out with his divorce.
Tim suffered from dementia the last few years. The isolation of the pandemic, I believe, accelerated it.
He lived the past few years with his sister, my aunt Trish. She has been his caregiver. Which as anyone knows dementia, has been not easy for either of them. I’m grateful that they have had each other and her care.
I’m also grateful to cousins who helped them both with care and chores.
He fell last month, hit his head and had a brain bleed that was unknown how long it had happened. After the surgery, he deteriorated with strokes and the nature of brain injuries. This was heartbreaking for my family to watch.
He was a hard working and guy. He would help maintain many of my grandparents properties. Mowing, trimming, shoveling snow, shoveling dog poop, painting, and so much more tasks unnamed.
He loved animals, especially dogs. And always showed extra care for them all.
He was a talented (and quite a bit cooky) artist and he was a fantastic welder. He would make the cutest daisies out of coffee cans, hangers for stems, & wood for a base. I wish that I had one of them.
Tim loved food! Eat something delicious in his honor today.
