Tina Marie Holland's Obituary
Tina Marie Holland, daughter of Kathy Ralston, born June 01, 1969, left this earthly life to be with our Father in Heaven and loving Savior on Thursday August 24, 2017. Tina was surrounded by numerous loved ones, including her mom, children, and siblings as she quietly completed her work on earth.
Tina is survived by her mother Kathleen Anne Ralston, her siblings Ron (Cyndi) Ralston and Wendy (Mario) Santos, her children, Richard Dean Holland and Tori Marie Holland and nieces Bethany (Declan) Webster, Lindsay Ralston, Matthew Ralston, and Dominic Santos. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Philip and Marie Ralston, her uncle Phil Ralston, and her beloved cousin Krista Oaks.
Tina was born in the Fort Belvoir Hospital in Fairfax County, Virginia. As a young child Tina lived with her family in Virginia, Worth, IL, Maryland, Chicago, and Boise, ID. In 1980 her family moved to Utah where they stayed until Tina was a young adult. In 1987 the family business took her to Texas where Tina lived until 1991 when she returned to Utah to raise her family.
While living in Texas, Tina met and later married, Larry Dean Holland. Together they had two beautiful children – Richard (“Ricky”) Dean Holland and Tori Marie Holland. Tina and Larry later divorced but remained very close friends. In the last couple of years of her life Tina and Larry reconnected in Salt Lake City, UT and lived together, with their daughter, until her passing.
Tina made a career in the Procurement industry and was extremely successful in her field. She had the opportunity to work with several major supply chain and Healthcare companies. Tina was a wonderful mother and loved her two children more than anything else in this world. While she spoiled her babies, she also taught them to be strong, successful, and proud young adults. They meant the world to her and nothing made her happier than being with her Ricky and Tori! Tina was blessed with another “child” in the form of a fury friend – her puppy, Peanut. She cherished Peanut who brought her great joy. Tina loved and adored her nieces and nephews. She could often be found, during her lunch hours, sneaking off to hold them or just spend time with them!
Tina was a beloved member of a very extended family. There are many, many, aunts, uncles, and cousins that she treasured being with. As a child, Tina was often clogging with her cousin, putting on a “talent show” for the “grown-ups” or playing the flute during family gatherings. As an adult she planned get-togethers and provided more laughter than we could have ever known. Just like her hair, Tina had a fiery spirit and never backed down from a challenge. There are very few things that Tina set her mind to doing and not accomplish. She walked to the finish line of a walk-a-thon with blisters on her feet and sunburns on her face before ever thinking she would not finish. When she put something in her sights, she went full speed ahead to complete. She had a love for numbers and could easily compute any problem in her head within seconds. Tina was very talented, compassionate, loving, generous, and full of life. She was spunky and independent but also a softy and reliant on the family that loved her so much. She had a zest for life and was always searching to fulfill her dreams. She was a big part of our family and we will miss her more than words can express.
Tina, we love you. We love you more with every passing day. You are imprinted in our hearts and will never, ever be forgotten. Sleep in the arms of your Savior and rest in the comfort that you are loved…on both sides of the veil.
The family would like to thank the countless care givers at Utah Valley Hospital, specifically the Intensive Care Unit, the Progressive Care Unit, and the Physicians with the Critical Care Team – lead primarily by Dr. William Alward. We greatly appreciate you taking such special care of Tina during the last few days of her life. We would also like to personally thank Dr. Clark Bishop. Your love, compassion, and friendship towards our mother will never be forgotten. Thank you!
