Todd Macfarlane's Obituary
Todd Robert Macfarlane, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2024, in Plain City,
Utah.
Todd Robert Macfarlane was born on July 23, 1964 to Robert John Macfarlane and JeNiel Brown
Macfarlane Larsen in Casper, Wyoming. Although he lived in California and then, Kirkland,
Washington where his love of skiing began and was known for competitively skiing at the age of
9. He was then, primarily raised in North Ogden, Utah, where he was an active, happy, and go
lucky child always on the move enjoying the hobbies he truly loved, golfing, skiing, fishing, and
hunting.
Todd attended and graduated from Weber High School. Shortly after, in September of 1983, he
married the love of his life, Kristine Hales, and together they embarked on a 38-year journey. Many
happy times were spent with family and friends, camping, skiing, hiking, golfing, jet-skiing, and
4-wheeling. Todd’s zest for life was reflected in his world travels and the experiences he shared on
those trips with his beloved wife and friends.
In his career, Todd was a self-made businessman and general contractor. Todd worked tirelessly
to build a reputable and trusted business to provide for his family. He was a man of great integrity,
a wonderful example of perseverance, and modeled a strong work ethic. His word was his bond,
which resulted in remarkable success in his professional life. His nickname “Rambo '' reflected
his resilience and determination to succeed as he built Macfarlane Siding Inc. Later in his career,
Todd joined forces to create Omega Metals with longtime friends and business partners, Mark and
Janet Green. Together with their children, they expanded and grew their business, creating a
close-knit family-like atmosphere. Todd also had a generous heart and contributed to many
different charitable causes. Being fiercely kind and loyal to family and friends, he would always
drop everything to help anyone in a time of need.
Todd is survived by his two daughters, Caitlin (Keith) Hayes, and Emily (Chance) Bailey; two sons,
Kevin (Alex) Macfarlane and Chase (Ashlyn) Macfarlane, along with seven grandchildren. Todd
had a close relationship with his mother JeNiel (Bob) Larsen and father Robert (TJ) Macfarlane. He
is also survived by his sisters, Jill (Barry) Taylor, Trea (Russell) Nelson, and Therese (Tim)
Woozley.
Todd’s beloved wife, Kristine Macfarlane, preceded him in death on November 23, 2021. He was
also preceded in death by his cherished dogs, Addie, Kia, Tess, Ally, who were constant
companions for both he and Kris over the years.
The family would like to thank those who provided unwavering support to Todd during these
challenging times.
At Todd’s request there will be no formal service. A celebration of life, honoring both Todd and
Kris, will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Weber County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse,
located at 810 North Harrisville Road, Utah from 1 to 4 p.m. Casual Attire is suggested.
Private family burial will take place at Ben Lomond Cemetery.
