Tom A. Tuckett's Obituary
Tom Albert Tuckett passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 28, 2017 after struggling with his health for the past few years. He was born on March 15, 1940, the only son of Frank R. & Adaleen L. Tuckett. He grew up in Santaquin, UT and graduated from Payson High School in 1958. He joined the U.S. Army and served from 1960-1962. He married Vickie Lynn Johnson on May 14, 1966. They raised their family in South Salt Lake and Murray, UT. He was a proud Mason and belonged to Progress Lodge and El Kalah Shrine, where he served on the Board of Governors, along with several other Masonic organizations. He worked for Sperry Univac for many years and in 1983 he cofounded Hose Products Inc. and ran this successful business until his retirement in 2006. He has always loved fast cars and enjoyed NHRA Drag Racing as well as wrenching for and watching local race teams. He continued his passion for cars in his retirement by building and showing his own hot rods at local car shows. Most days you could find him in his garage working away on his cars.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie, children, Dan Tuckett (Vanessa), Amie Thompson (Andy), Christine Walke (Ben), grandchildren, Sarah (Cody), Amanda, Ian (Kourtney), Connor, and Carter, three great granddaughters, and his sisters, Janice Lundell, Carolyn Birch, & Frankie (Art) Johnson as well as many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Aspen Ridge Hospice, especially Ronda, Sonja, Todd, Jeanette and Claudia - your kindness was truly appreciated, Dr. Brent Muhlestein for his endless kindness and compassion. Special thanks to his nephew, Doug (Barbara) Johnson, for always including Uncle Tom on your many adventures and to all of our friends that are like family to us (you know who you are) - you mean the world to us.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday, November 4th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cottonwood Country Club, 1780 E. Lakewood Drive, Holladay, UT. As per his wishes, please dress casual and wear jeans and your favorite car show or racing shirt.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Shriners Hospital for Children @ www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
