Jed Lyman
Our family loved Trenna! She was such a good friend and so kind to all of us. Her text messages were remarkably well composed, emoji filled and bursting with animations. If I ever am feeling down I will go back and read some of her texts to boost my confidence…maybe to the point of megalomania!
I recall one time after a couple of days of no replies to my texts or calls and after knocking on her door and asking neighbors about her, I finally called the police and asked if they could do a well check. They circled the house checking through windows with their flashlights. They finally found her in her bedroom peacefully watching the Olympics. She was startled so badly I worried I might have caused the death I was trying to avert.
We loved taking her to our church for the Christmas Eve organ recital. She and my mom would sit together and reminisce about growing up in the Grant Stake in South Salt Lake. They were both born within a year of each other, and after my mom died she helped fill that void.
She was the consummate host, and conversationalist, and would remember details about our children that surprised us. She sent thoughtful gifts and beautifully penned cards. Our daughter still recalls her sweetness, and kindness. She was the model of grace and graciousness, and was "meek and lowly in heart," which I am sure was her passport to a long awaited rest with Him who invites all "that labor and are heavy laden". I am sure she will find healing, wholeness and belonging there as the Savior envelopes her in the truth about her remarkable soul which will wash away all self doubt and deprecation. That truth, which she was so reluctant to acknowledge about herself, was plainly evident to all who knew her.
Love,
Jed, Angie and the whole Lyman Family
P.S. We recall her fondness for her brother, her nieces and nephews, and their families. She frequently noted their accomplishments and many kindnesses to her. You did more for your aunt than many do for their own parents and her funeral beautifully honored and celebrated her.
