Tyler Sessions Allen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Tyler Sessions Allen, on October 4, 2025. Tyler was born in the early morning of June 20, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He had platinum, curly blonde hair that surprised us all, with beautiful blue eyes. His parents, Karyn and Chris Allen, welcomed him with joy and happiness. His family moved to Kaysville six months later, where he spent his childhood and teenage years. He attended school at Burton Elementary, Kaysville Jr. High, and Davis High, where he participated in both track and football before graduating 2013. Tyler was an avid participant in the scouting program. He worked hard and earned his Eagle Scout award a few weeks before his 13th birthday. He did what he was charged with as an Eagle Scout: to give back to scouting more than it had given to him, by helping others meet their requirements for various scouting merit badges and ranks. Tyler was a natural leader, and his mentoring skills were unparalleled for someone of his age. Tyler enjoyed spending time with his brothers, Luke and Jarrett. They hung out together, making 7-11 runs where they pooled their money to get bigger and better treats, tossing the ball with each other, camping out in the backyard, riding their bikes and scooters everywhere, and walking to and from school. Even though there were typical sibling scuffles, they watched out for each other and were the best of friends. From a young age, Tyler had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and made the decision to serve a mission. He was elated when the mission age changed, allowing him to serve at the age of 18. He received a call to serve in the Ecuador, Guayaquil South Mission. He left for the Mexico MTC in August 2013. He served and loved the people of Ecuador, the Spanish language, and, of course, the food. He would rave about it in every email he wrote home. His time in Ecuador was cut short due to two seizure events. He returned home to receive medical care in November 2014. After working with the neurology department at the U of U Medical Center, surgery was decided upon, and Tyler underwent brain surgery in January 2015. This was a miracle. He was declared fit to return to the mission field, and he finished his mission in the Washington, Everett mission from April 2015 to January 2016, where he loved the people, the Spanish language, and the food just as much as he did in Ecuador. After returning from his mission, Tyler went to work and to school at Weber State University. Tyler worked for the housing department and the carpentry department, while studying both Spanish and Construction Management, before graduating in December of 2020 with a Bachelor of Integrated Studies, Construction Management degree. He left his work at Weber to work for MAC Builders, then Stout Construction, and Big D Construction as an estimator. In June of 2024, he moved to Morgan Asphalt, where he was working at the time of his passing. Here, he found a work family and was very happy as a part of their team. Tyler had many opportunities for church service. While still in the singles’ ward, following his mission, he served as the Ward Mission Leader, always inviting the missionaries assigned to their ward to his home for dinner. He also served as the “Linger, Longer” planner during his time in that ward. After moving from the singles’ ward, he served in many callings, including Young Men’s Leader, Elder’s Quorum Secretary, First Counselor in the Bishopric, and, most recently, as the Stake Young Men’s Second Counselor. Though perhaps his favorite ‘calling’ was the “Sucker Man,” as during his time in the Bishopric, he would share suckers with the young children in his ward, whom he loved dearly. On February 2, 2019, Tyler and Kiersten met for their first date. A week later, they went on their second and third, and as they say, the rest is history. After dating for 10 months, they were married and sealed for time and all eternity on December 17, 2019, in the Ogden, Utah Temple. They lived in Syracuse for the first 3 years of their marriage. Many thanks to the special people of the Sandridge Ward for being such wonderful examples of Christlike service. Tyler was influenced heavily by the strength and leadership of the men he served with while in Syracuse. In 2023, Tyler and Kiersten purchased their first home in Clearfield. Here, they formed friendships that became like family. Tyler bonded with his church ball buddies, pickle-ball buddies, and fellow foodies alike. He found so much joy in the people he met and came to love here. Tyler found numerous opportunities for leadership and connection, and he grew significantly during his time in this community. Tyler’s life goal was to become a father. He and Kiersten had tried faithfully for five years before finally conceiving in March 2025. Sadly, their first little one passed at only 7 weeks of gestation. Then a miracle happened; they conceived again in June 2025 and are now expecting a son in March 2026. Tyler loved his wife more than anything in this world. He will look from heaven and watch over his little family with love and strength. In life, Tyler was passionate, opinionated, kind, strong, loving, and the best husband, father, son, brother, and friend anyone could ever ask for. He did not want to leave but is now faithfully finding those whom only he can tend to on the other side. Tyler’s work as a missionary on this earth and in heaven will be the greatest joy and blessing to him and to so many others. He has the capacity to love the unlovable, find those who need him, and never leave those he cares for. He wants you to know you can find him if you look for him. His desires in heaven are the same as they were on earth. He just wants to love, serve, and laugh with you. He loves you. He cares deeply for you. Tyler has a deep faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, and in His Atonement, and wants all those he loves to know the Savior. We all love Tyler and will miss him terribly. He is survived by his loving wife, Kiersten and their yet-to-be born son; his parents, Chris and Karyn Allen, his sisters Ashley Allen and Nicole Allen, his brothers Jarrett (Chloe) Allen and Luke Allen; his father and mother-in-law Mike and Jenny Erickson, his sisters-in-law Jessica Erickson, Lyndsey Erickson and Myken (Erik) Johanson; his three nephews Portland Allen, Oaks Allen and Gustav Johanson and his grandma Karma Winward. He is preceded in death by Grandpa Emer Winward, Grandma Norma Allen, and Grandpa Frank Allen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11th, at 11:00 a.m. in the church building where Tyler attended as a youth, 875 E 200 N, Kaysville, UT 84037. The viewing will be held on Friday, October 10th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, prior to the service, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the same location. Interment will take place in the Syracuse City Cemetery following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Kiersten and their son.
