1929 - 2022
Our Father Loved God, Family, the Mountains, and Southern Utah. He was a wonderful talented Artist. He was Kind, Loving, Caring and Service giving. He was a Father, Brother, Son, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa, But much more our DAD Whom we loved very much, he returned home Tuesday June 14, 2022 at the age of 92.
Vaughn was born Dec 24, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ortho Lane and Laura Violate Smith. He had an older sister, two older Brothers. And a Younger brother. Vaughn was a very talented Artist and we all loved watching him paint the beauty of the world. He was an active member of the Church Of Jesus Christ And Latter Day Saints. He was a service Missionary for over 20 years at Temple Square, the Conference Center, Family History Center, and Joseph Smith Building with his dear friend, Darlene Officer. He loved serving and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dad is survived by his Sister Virginia Peterson, and Brother Grant Fairbanks (Lucy ) 5 beautiful children, Martin Fairbanks (Mary), Jodi Gray (Richard), VaunaLee Peterson, Stacey Moyer, (Ron) Ryan Larsen (Genni ). Dad was also a loving step father to 3 wonderful stepchildren Jeff (Heidi), Chad (Audrey) , and Cydni Larsen. 24 Grandchildren and 36 Great Grandchildren And his love, Darlene Officer. Proceeded in death by Grandson Christopher Gray, Dads parents, and his Brothers, Ortho and Richard Fairbanks.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, June 20, 2022 at Premier Funeral Services, 67 East 8000 South, Midvale, UT with a viewing prior to services from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, 500 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Dad, Grandpa, Your loving, caring, funny, sarcastic words and advice will forever leave a huge hole in our hearts. Until we meet again. One more chair is empty at our table.
