Vauncille Avers Cottrell's Obituary
Vauncille Avers Cottrell was born November 20, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas. She passed away March 24, 2021.
Von graduate from Lindon High School in 1965. She married Donald O’Brien in 1966 in Topeka, Kansas. She later married Gerald Cottrell in 1975 in Elko, Nevada. She enjoyed camping, playing pool, and reading romance novels. Above all else she loved her fur babies. She was a very dedicated and hard worker. Von worked over 20 years for Iomega. The also owned and operated a restaurant with her husband, “The Syracuse Café”, for a few years. She loved the food industry and helping people. In her later years, she even worked at J&D’s restaurant part-time. She had many odd jobs she enjoyed over the years. Those who knew Vauncille knew of her great energy. She was always on the go.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Carrie) O’Brien; several step-children; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she had a great love for.
Preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; son, Jerry O’Brien; parents; and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 5th, 11:00 am at Premier Funeral Services, 5665 So. 1950 W. Roy. A viewing will be held prior from 10 – 11 am. Interment will be at Brigham City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to help with funeral expenses.
