Velma Marie Ansley's Obituary
Velma “Marie” Ansley, our precious Ohma, passed on Sunday, January 29th surrounded by her biggest fans.
Marie was born on June 1, 1935, in Las Animas Colorado to Forrest Howard Bogner and Edith Sarah. She was survived by her son, William George Ansley Jr. (Dawn), Grandchildren (Alicia, Vanessa, Bill, Eric, and Misty), Daughter in law (Sherrie), great-grandchildren (Weston, Kelsey, Alexia, Tyler, Saige, Kaden, Harmony, Jace, Kason, Bobby, and Shandon), great great grandchildren (Beau, Riggins, and Kai).
Marie lived her life just like she gardened, with hard work, patience, and love. Marie loved to work, and her work ethic was incredible. She took pride in everything she accomplished. She could make peanut brittle all night, then clean for 8 hours straight all to return home to slip on her garden overalls. She would listen to her waterfall and beautiful birds as she weeded and planted flowers. It gave her much joy to share her beautiful garden with those who came to visit.
Marie was always up for fun and adventure, never afraid to try anything at least once. She drove a UTV up and down the mountainside, taught her grandchildren the two-step in her kitchen, would go for car rides with her best friend Joyce, and at nearly 80 years young hiked to the Delicate Arch. You could often catch her bringing her favorite pup, Frank, along for the ride. She owned every version of Monopoly and spent hours on end laughing and playing with her family. She had the best personality, filling the room with her bright smile and teasing everyone with her quick wit. She always supported her grandkids. She was the best cheerleader to those she loved. She went to countless softball games, leading chants of “yeah buddy” in the stands as she watched. Her support was passionate, unconditional, and consistent, she knew how to make everyone feel special.
She was our biggest fan, and we were hers. Ohma, you always have been, and always will be our guardian angel. This isn’t a goodbye, but it is “see you soon”.
There will be a gathering of friends and family to celebrate her amazing life on Saturday, February 11, from 3:00-5:00 pm. Premier Funeral Services (67 East 8000 South Midvale, Utah).
