I knew Venna for the last roughly 6 to 8 years of her life. She was my neighbor. I may have known her a short period of time but she made a big impact on my life. I will never forget one day when she had to pay her rent she got out into the parking lot with NO traffic and she put that chair of hers into Rabbit mode and took off like a bat out of a Bell Frey. If a wheel chair could burn rubber she did it that day. She was going to get an adrenaline fix any way she could. I enjoyed her as a neighbor we had many good times playing games and talking. I grew up in and around the area that Venna lived in California so we had many conversations about Santa Ana and the beach and her life there. I will never forget her and her smile and her love and her strength. She will be missed.
Venna was such an amazing person! I met Venna about 10 years ago when I started doing some volunteer work with her. I got the privilege to go skiing with her once, which I found so inspiring. She spent time with me before I was pregnant, all through my pregnancy, and then after my twins were born. I would bring the twins with me to do some light house cleaning or cooking for Venna. They would roll and crawl around as Venna watched on with a smile on her face and love in her heart. She was always so kind and wanted to hear all about everything happening in our lives. She was always full of smiles and love. She will be so very missed, but she will live on in our memories, as my boys still talk about her lovingly to this day.
When I was a little girl, my family took a road trip to DisneyLand, that is when I had the pleasure of meeting Jules! I remember her & her little apartment to be so happy a place; she had dishes full of candy & lots of kitty cats everywhere. She made me laugh with a little quirky joke, & any time I saw her since that time, she found some way to make me laugh with something she’d say. I didn’t know her too well, but what I did know of her was to be always full of joy & happiness with her spunky ways! Thanks for brightening some days for me Jules, I’ll miss yah
I'm so grateful that Jules finally found the family she so deserved. Thank you Kathy and Kevin and all of your family for giving Julie the warmth, acceptance and fun that so enriched her life!
In my entire life I have never known anyone who had more things go wrong and bad in their life but still held a positive and happy attitude.. She was the most brave, feisty and fashion-conscious girl when I first met her in California some 40 years ago. She kept her fashion sense but the years wore her down as far as being outgoing. She always had an amazing sense of humor and the cruel things people sometimes said and did to her didn’t dissuade her from being a LIGHT and a happy person. She once told me it didn’t bother her when children pointed and stared at her but when adults did that really hurt. HOW I LOVE THIS PHENOMENAL GIRL❣️️
