Venus Kuki Gomez's Obituary
In Loving Memory
Venus Kuki Gomez
July 25, 1950 – July 1, 2025
Venus Kuki Gomez passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 25, 1950, in the village of Clarkabad, Lahore, Pakistan, to Chirag Bibi and Barkat Masih. She was the sixth out of seven of children.
On September 20, 1975, she married the love of her life, her “Bengali Babu,” Bert Himangshu Gomez. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, loyalty, and love. On the same day five years later—September 20, 1980—they courageously immigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, with their two young daughters to join her brother, Frederick Parvez, and his young family—beginning a new chapter filled with hope, unity, and opportunity. Her younger brother, Javed, and his family later joined them in Salt Lake City where all the families grew together in love and community.
Her name, Venus—the Roman goddess of love and beauty—perfectly reflected the spirit she carried. She embodied God’s love in all its forms: gentle, generous, steadfast, and healing. Venus was a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion. Her love language was Punjabi cooking—made with care and joy—and sharing it with others brought her the greatest happiness.
She embraced her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend with grace and humility. Her legacy is carried on in the values she instilled—faith in God, dedication to family, and compassion for all.
She shared her spiritual devotion with her beloved husband. Her life was guided by her faith, and we find peace knowing she is now resting until she reunites with her family in God’s promised resurrection.
Venus is survived by her husband, Bert Gomez; her three daughters: Hena (Lance), Anita (Nathan), and Sarah (Eric); her cherished grandchildren: Zeeshan (Marissa), Hina (Abraham), Salman, Nyeli, Nova, Rai, Rayah, and Kalai. She is also lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews, her sister-in-law Zinat Parvez, and many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Daisy, Elvina, Dulcie and her brothers: Frederick, Javed and Zarrin.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we are comforted knowing she is now at peace. Her memory will remain a guiding light for all who loved her.
“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
— Revelation 21:4, NWT
Her memory lives on in every heart she touched.
